Frequently asked questions
How much does a study trip to China cost?
From CHF 1,500 per student for the land programme, from CHF 2,500 with flights, booked and issued by a partner travel agency. The quote is firm for the announced group size; accompanying staff travel free.
Do students need a visa?
Swiss nationals are exempt from visas for stays of under thirty days; this exemption currently runs until 31 December 2026. Passports must be valid for six months after return. For other nationalities, we check each participant's situation.
How far in advance should we plan?
Allow six months between the first discussion and departure. Company visits are booked six to eight weeks before departure, with the list of participants.
Who supervises the group on site?
A French-speaking Suissia escort and a French–Chinese interpreter are present from departure to return, in addition to local guides. An emergency number answers 24/7 in French.
Can the trip be assessed?
Yes. Suissia provides the framework: preparatory file, field notebook, oral debrief on site and final report on return. The school keeps control of content and grading.
What insurance is needed?
Personal insurance, including cancellation and repatriation, is not included and must be taken out by each participant or by the school.
Are vaccinations required?
No vaccination is required for China; the usual recommendations of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health apply.
How will students pay on site?
Mobile payment is set up with the students before departure; a practical guide and a roaming eSIM are available.
